On Thursday, October 20th, APSA, after 15 negotiation sessions in August, September and October, reached a tentative agreement with Michigan State University.

The tentative agreement (TA) was presented to the APSA Board of Directors on Wednesday, Oct 26th for their vote to determine whether or not the TA would be carried forward and presented  to the APSA membership for ratification.  The APSA Board of Directors approved the TA for presentation to the general membership for ratification.   The Board vote was not unanimous; rather, it represented a simple majority vote of approval.  The Board approval was announced to those members attending the Oct 26th, 2011 semi-annual meeting held at the Breslin Center.

Dan Hankins and Jayne Flanigan, APSA legal counsel and lead negotiators, are currently preparing the TA documents required per the APSA by-laws for distribution to the membership.    We anticipate these TA documents will be made available no later than Friday, November 4th.  We will be utilizing electronic voting technology for this ratification process.  Additional information/instructions will be forthcoming.
